Jaw Contouring / Jaw Repair
Jaw repair is a surgical procedure performed to restore the structure, function, and alignment of the jaw. The jaw plays an essential role in important activities such as chewing, speaking, and maintaining the overall balance of the facial structure. Damage or deformities in the jaw may occur due to trauma, fractures, developmental conditions, infections, or previous surgical complications. Jaw repair procedures aim to correct these issues and restore normal jaw function.
Patients who require jaw repair may experience symptoms such as pain, difficulty in opening or closing the mouth, misalignment of the teeth, or changes in facial appearance. In such cases, dental and maxillofacial specialists carefully evaluate the condition using clinical examination and imaging techniques such as X-rays or CT scans to determine the extent of the problem. Depending on the severity of the condition, jaw repair may involve repositioning the jaw bones, fixing fractures with plates and screws, or reconstructing damaged bone structures. These procedures help restore proper alignment of the jaws and improve the patient’s ability to chew, speak, and maintain oral health. With the help of modern surgical techniques and advanced planning methods, jaw repair procedures can be performed with high precision and improved outcomes. Proper post-operative care and follow-up visits are important to ensure successful healing and long-term stability of the jaw structure.
